FNO & MNO

I am so completely excited for this evenings many events taking place for Fashion's Night Out. Mostly just because I have not been out in months, but really because I have been out of touch with my fashionistas for too long! So, I'm turning it into a Mommy's Night Out too. 

As a designer I take a lot of inspiration from many of the looks we see on the runway. A lot of textiles and housewares are reflections of the fashion trends at the time. What is FNO, you ask? If you haven't heard about it, or you've ben living under a completely unfashionable rock lately let me clue you in. Its a national industry event that takes place on one night, tonight Sept 6 2012. Its currently in its fourth year and various boutiques established and indie designers will be showcasing new pieces and their Fall Collections. Mix in cocktails, DJ's and live performances and you've got a fabulous night!

Life Under Construction

I started this blog in effort to journal this new chapter in my life. I became a mother for the first time, then 7 months later found myself single after 8 years. Prior to all this I was a complete design-a-holic. My career was as an Interior Designer and I soaked up anything and everything design, fashion, art related. Needless to say given the change in my circumstances and after the birth of my child my priorities and focus shifted. I hope to chronicle all the changes, the ups and downs, and continue delving into design.
